    Who makes lights which last?

I meant round "equivalents" of 600mm square panels. Although preferably not 600mm dia. I guess just a "standard" where a choice of xmm dia round panels was always, and would always be, as wide as 600x600.

    Wiring a plug

Doesn't have to be moulded though, does it?

    Who makes lights which last?

But I can say with absolute certainty that if lighting was made up to a quality standard and not down to a price there's no reason why products couldn't last for decades.

    Who makes lights which last?

They can't and don't test, and AFAIK don't survey, the longevity of integral lights.

    Who makes lights which last?

It does. On the plus side, you know you're always going to be able to buy 600mm panels. What we need is for a de-facto standard for round lights to become established.

    Who makes lights which last?

It's also what I need to buy to meet my wants. I don't want miniature - 250mm ± diameter is ideal, but I want as low profile as possible. I'd have totally flush if I could, but then I would be really hosed if I couldn't get replacements exactly the same size.

    Who makes lights which last?

Never had the syncing problem except with the couple that have emergency supplies. My knowledge of "bulkhead lights" is that they are bit pedestrian-subway-ish. Maybe I should find the cheapest ones I can and buy a large number - if the ones I have now are typical they don't take any longer to...

'Safe Zone' created by 'current using equipment' ??

If that were a large cooker hood its footprint could be 2m wide and 1m high.

That's what my parents called sockets.

    Who makes lights which last?

Deep joy. Can't even rely on makes like Philips/Thorn/JCC? 2 years according to the people we got them from, and yes, we'll be OK with these failures, but what of future years? I'm strongly minded to get refunds rather than replacements, if I can, ditto for any further failures over the next...

    Who makes lights which last?

Eric - I'm not buying bulbs, I'm buying integral lights. I do have other lights which use bulbs, and no doubt I'll find makes which are reliable and ones which aren't, and if I have a mix it'll be OK unless there's a marked difference in colour temperature. But for these ceiling lights I want...

Or to anyone who argues that a zone is as wide as a TV because it's inconvenient for him for it to be only as wide as a socket.

    Who makes lights which last?

I'm in the market for some low-profile, round, surface mount LED ceiling lights 220-250mm dia,15-20mm deep, white, 18W or a bit more. Wall switch operated CCT would be nice, but failing that 3000K. I have already got quite a few Knightsbridge CPL18CTs, which I thought were an OK make, but...
