    Sounder not sounding

There was no evidence of any water or corrosion on the back of the pcb. It's been raining throughout the night where I am and inside the bellbox was bone dry. There wasn't even any condensation.

Ok thanks. I'll report back in tomorrow when I've had another look at the bellbox.

    Sounder not sounding

No I didn't do that. I'll have another look at it tomorrow and will release the pcb, check its back and photograph it too if I can. If I do need to replace the bellbox, will any type of bellbox be ok to fit or does it need to be a specific type or make etc?

    Sounder not sounding

Please see the photos below of the inside of my sounder. After removing the front cover, it didn't sound but it all looked pretty clean inside with no evidence of any water ingress that I could see. All of the cables are intact and there didn't appear to be any signs of corrosion on any of the...

Ok. I'll take some photos inside the sounder tomorrow and I'll report back then. Thanks again.

    Sounder not sounding

Will do. If it is just a corroded wire or a loose wire that's come out and it's clear enough which terminal it should be reconnected back into, am I ok to just strip it back and reconnect it without turning off the lighting circuit in the house that the alarm is powered by? And if I do connect...

    Sounder not sounding

I've reconnected it so everything is back to the way it was. I'll brave the elements and get the long ladders out tomorrow. I'll take the front off the sounder, take a photo and will report back then. Thanks very much for your help so far today. It's much appreciated. If it's just a corroded...

    Sounder not sounding

I connected the blue wire back in and then disconnected the red one. The external sounder did not sound. I am assuming I didn't need to try the red wire in one of the other terminals did I?

Did that. The external sounder did not sound.

    Sounder not sounding

Yes, that is correct. The green and white cables are not connected to anything. I'll disconnect the blue cable now and put it into where the black cable is connected into the OV terminal, as you highlighted with the red arrows

    Sounder not sounding

Ok but just before I do, the alarm system is wired on my downstairs lighting circuit. Do I need to turn that circuit off before I disconnect any wires inside the PSU?

    Sounder not sounding

You say "remove bell trip cable in main control panel and touch it on 0v in panel …..Does it sound ?" Apologies but I don't know what any of that means. When you say "main control panel" are you referring to what I described as the PSU in my Post #4 above and as shown in the photo below...

    Sounder not sounding

Yes, everything had always worked perfectly. I only noticed recently that it had stopped sounding outside for some unknown reason but, I couldn't be sure when this issue actually started as the alarm just used to get set on the way out and unset on the way back in again, but it definitely...
