Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but can you not close off the C/H flow and return valves inside the boiler and then drain the the C/H system leaving the boiler and heat exchangers full of water (and still able to use DHW)?

Do you mean you have hot water in your tank? Is there cold water coming out the hot taps or no water at all? Or are you talking about just your central heating?
