Have changed the CP15 for a CP715 (think that's what it was) and everything has lept into life, the new one went on without any problems at all. Restored the power pressed the 1 hour button and away it went. Mate now has a nice warm house. Thanks again for the bits of advice folks.

Pilot is fine, was thinking that the next move would be to change the Danfoss CP15, does anyone knowhow much work it's going to be as I'm sure they don't do the CP15 anymore

No it's a BF. The reset switch is on the Danfoss control panel on the wall in the kitchen.
