Ive since messed with the thermostat on the boiler and it's now coming on and off as it should. Although it doesnt seem to stay on (pilot light) for that long before it goes out again. It's not cutting out anymore though which is good.
I'm not a competent plumber by the way. I do not have...
Hi, its a Glow Worm Ultimate.
I figured out why it wasnt turning back in... the overheat cutoff button had flicked. Pushed this back in and on it came. However, it now just keep turning back off again after a minute. If I wait a few minutes I can press the button again and on it will...
I decided to change the setting on the pump. It was on 2 and the noise was there. On 1 and 3 the noise went but the heating stopped and the boiler went off.
I've put back on setting 2 and the noise is sort of there but eh boiler pilot light is not working now... and it's getting cold!

Ive just read that if the pump housing is hot then its a good sign it needs replacing.
I also read that central heating noise could be air in the pump and needs bleeding?
The speed is currently set to 2. Should I just try the other settings to see ii makes any difference?
Could it be the pump or the boiler that is causing the noise when the central heating is on?
Thanks,
Thanks for the response.
The motorised valves... what happens when I slide it to the other side?
The cylinder stat is set to 75. What should this be set to?
Yes, the assembly is detached and needs looking at but what to the three settings do?
Thanks,

Not sure which system I have. I have a hot water tank upstairs and a cold water tank in the loft. As far as I know the water for the shower is direct from the mains I think?

We have two bathrooms, one en suite and a family bathroom. There is a shower in the en suite but not the family bathroom. Both bathrooms are next to each other separated by an internal wall and are near identical in layout...
Hi All,
Time for a weekend of decorating. To start with the bathroom.
We have a stippled/artex (is there a difference?) bathroom ceiling. I'd like some advice as to how best prepare the ceiling, a suitable paint and can I just use a roller for the most part and a brush for the edges...
Well, the wedding ring has been dropped off and they didnt see a problem removing the crap from it... we shall see...
Now just the various bits to get rid of in the bathroom!
