Cold chisel! The mortar is very crumbly so doesn't take much to crack. Thanks very much for the advice :) It's under a window as you say, and there is some kind of material under the block and on top of bricks that make up the lower story (is that the DPC? I'm woefully ignorant of these things!)

Hi all, So this happened while sinking a backbox, the mortar has cracked and the block has sunk (outwards, rather than downwards) a couple of mm so it's no longer flush with the rest of the wall. Should I pull it out and reset it, or just fill it and plaster over? Or is this a job for a builder...
