Hi all,
So this happened while sinking a backbox, the mortar has cracked and the block has sunk (outwards, rather than downwards) a couple of mm so it's no longer flush with the rest of the wall.

Should I pull it out and reset it, or just fill it and plaster over? Or is this a job for a builder rather than a keen diyer...

Cheers
Cal

What did you use for the cut out a Jack hammer?
Block it out with mortar then straighten with bonding, finishing plaster...or get a tub of patching plaster from one of the sheds.
Kill the power before going near it with wet mortar.

Cold chisel! The mortar is very crumbly so doesn't take much to crack.
Thanks very much for the advice :)

Its perhaps under a window and off the (zero bond) DPC.
It's under a window as you say, and there is some kind of material under the block and on top of bricks that make up the lower story (is that the DPC? I'm woefully ignorant of these things!)
