    Parkside Li-on Battery Tools

My main concern is brand snobbery to be honest, just wondering if any other "professionals use them!

    Parkside Li-on Battery Tools

Thanks for that Dave, I'm even more tempted now I know I can get spares/customer service from somewhere. They seem to have quite a range too!

    Parkside Li-on Battery Tools

Thanks, I meant who makes Parkside? They have an offer starting on the 25th Feb for a load more of the cordless tools, was thinking of getting these instead of shelling out on Hitachi or Dewalt? 3 year warranty and they all have inter changeable batteries.....I'm tempted!

    Parkside Li-on Battery Tools

Don't laugh but......I got an 18v cordless SDS from Lidl and it's bloody good. Have seen they have some more coming out soon, an 18v drill, driver and jigsaw, all for about 40 quid each, 3 year warranty.... Anyone got any idea where they come from, seem like a bargain to me and have read...

    Public Liabilty Insurance

Something I'm very interested in too at the moment. I am in the process of switching careers and will obviously need liability insurance once I'm up and running. What sort of cover do you go for and how much is it generally (sorry it is quite a specific question but want to get an idea). I am...

Shower trays - ABS Acrylic capped polyurethane foam v stone resin?

We have a resin tray bedded on sand and cement, I ply'ed the floor before hand - no issues what so ever and our house is 1930's. Don't mastic it in though, as one trades person suggested to me!

Getting to Bath Taps & Waste Removal

Hi Madrab - sound advice thanks. I've let them know, they're considering it all and will let me know. I think I'll persevere, I'm confident I can do it, I may not be very quick but it's experience if anything, good or bad. I still work full time so am looking to do these sorts of jobs at the...

Getting to Bath Taps & Waste Removal

Thanks for all the help all. I'm considering doing a tiling course too to try and pay the bills whilst I build my gas portfolio, so may attempt the bath if and when I complete!! Cheers Mike

Getting to Bath Taps & Waste Removal

Thanks all, it's all experience at the moment so don't want to be too picky and I enjoy the challenge of trying to figure it out (at the moment anyway!!!) but agree, my ultimate aim is to get my gas, that and my level 3 are next on my priority list. Will go back and have another crack at the...

Getting to Bath Taps & Waste Removal

Sorry the picture of the waste is obviously still with the trap on, but even with it off I could not see any nut or screw to free the plug waste!?!?

Getting to Bath Taps & Waste Removal

Thanks for the help, here's some pictures, I couldn't see any screws inside the waste, did have a look, sorry don't have a picture that but here's the underside. Bath is panelled on three sides, there is a small access panel on the side but there is no way I can get under and up to the taps...

Getting to Bath Taps & Waste Removal

Thanks, that's a relief....for me anyway! I'm just finishing my level 2 C&G plumbing and they were kind enough to ask me round for my first job - only I couldn't do it!! It is an external wall yes, 1st floor too so I don't fancy getting up a ladder knocking bricks out of their house. Guess it...

Getting to Bath Taps & Waste Removal

Hi All, I have been asked to replace the taps on a friends bath, the only problem is that they are centrally mounted on the wall side of the bath. Has anyone faced this before and how did you get round it, the only way I can think of is to take the bath out....!? They also wanted me to replace...

    Vortex Blowtorch

Hi All, Looking to buy a blowtorch, must be self igniting and adjustable. Have read 100's of varying reviews on the Superfire 2. I have used this previously and found it good. There only really seem to be opinions on this and the Bernzomatic (which don't appear to be sold anymore). I was just...

Replacing Shower Valve & Best Tap Spanner

Thanks for replying! I'll try and remove the old valve to take a look. How would the connections ordinarily be made, should it be with push fit? Will take a look at the monument too, I guess it's easy enough to use without actually seeing what you're doing, or is there a nack to it? Thanks...
