    Electric oven wiring/box movement

Thanks for your responses. The oven (Zanussi Zohna7x1) is 16amp rated. The corresponding fuse in the fusebox is a 16 amp (NHXB16). From what I can see on the wire, it is embossed with 6242Y - 2x2.5+1.5mm2. Do you think this is too low rated? Ps, do you see any issue with the earth wire on show...

    Electric oven wiring/box movement

Hi all Please could anyone advise if the way the installer has left the protruding wire is a problem. Secondly, the oven is not flush, the box on the right protrudes slightly preventing the oven from sitting properly. Can these boxes be moved in any location, e.g. in the red areas. Does the...

Upstairs taps/showers running hot and cold - downstairs fine

Hi all I have a combi boiler setup, Vaillant Ecotec plus 831. The house does not have great flow. If the kitchen sink tap is on, the upstairs taps wont work. If the outside garden hose is on, no taps in the house run. I understand that my supply pipe is lead and in need of change. However, the...

    Wood post removal

Hi, I have a wooden post protruding from a grassy area in my garden. The wood is quite thick and very sturdy. I wish to remove it in an easy manner, without leaving a hole in the ground. I was thinking of just cutting it to a reasonable level. What would be the easiest way to cut this...

    Hot water pipe on right.

Thanks for your replies. Alan, the picture needs to be rotated 90 degrees clockwise. Its good to hear that they can be swapped. It seems like a simple enough job and there is a good area to work in. Burnerman, the flexipipes only supply the bath taps. The flow there is reasonable but due...

    Hot water pipe on right.

Hi all I have been having temperature problems on my Triton shower ever since I moved in. Since taking off the bath panel, I have discovered that the hot water pipe is on the right and believe this is why we have had such a fluctuating shower. All the other taps in the house are fine...
