    Turf keeps dying

Henry, I somewhat agree with Hawkeye. See what damage has been done by the rain and if the lawn survives, stay off it and let it grow. Buy some fertiliser that you can spread by hand as it absorbs slower.one it starts growing in the spring, leave it 6 weeks and just take a few inches off to see...

Hive battery or wired plus Muggles question

Shame you can’t over ride to have them displayed.

Hive battery or wired plus Muggles question

Thanks EricMark and others too. I didn’t realise that the Hive display turned off. That was one of the attractions, being able to see what the status is without pressing. I have no plans for TRVs at this moment in time. Hive install is only for the thermostats and receivers or heat link...

Hive battery or wired plus Muggles question

Hi all, I hijacked a thread earlier to ask a question regarding a Black Friday deal for Hive. After looking through threads to get some clarity on installation I still need some help. I contacted Hive earlier to ask if I can use existing thermostat power to power the thermostat. They said...

Hive multi-zone to ideal combi logic 35 boiler

I had a post on here trying to determine the best smart thermostat for an Ideal Logic with two heating zones and a hot water tank. Tado informed me it wouldn’t work for 2 zones which left Nest and Hive. I was about to pull the trigger on Nest. This morning I noticed a deal on Hive website for 2...

    Killing and seeding/turfing front lawn

Dig it all over than lay down a tarp sheet. This will let everything die and rot underneath. Then next spring level add some topsoil and turf it. Much quicker result and will stop weeds coming back.

Fence Post Mortar - Pointing Patio Slabs

Use fine paving sand. Just brush it in.

    sleepers connecting

I have just done similar. I connected sleepers by cutting a mitre in both ends so they overlap. 6 inch sleepers so cut out a 3 inch square in both, top on one and bottom on another to form an overlap. Then drill through and secure with long screws and recess. I also used a length of rebar, bent...

    Ideal logic H12 and OpenTherm

Ericmark, thanks for the extensive write up. Certainly a lot to consider there. Stem, thanks. I would concur that with 2 zones, the control algorithm wouldn’t work. How would it know which zone needs to ramp. Of both were calling for heat but at differing temps, the boiler can’t distinguish on...

    Ideal logic H12 and OpenTherm

There is a similar post 12 months old, but no conclusion.

What could this shallow yellow plastic cable be? I need to put a post there.

Could it actually be a hose used to top up the pond?

    Ideal logic H12 and OpenTherm

Can someone advise if the Ideal Logic H12 is OpenTherm compatible please. On the ideal site it says it is, but with Evohome. I also read somewhere I need to install some OpenTherm interface controller into the boiler. What would this be if so? If I can go OpenTherm, is it worth the cost. I am...

    Incorrect info from Tado?

Great thanks. Just a question of aesthetics then
