It appears that the 16A wa previously used for the emersion heater and now there is no emersion someone previosus to me has utilised it for downstairs ring. What kind of problems might i get with the ring being on a 16A. Will it just simply be tripping the MCB when more than one appliance is on?

As far as i can tell all cable on the ring is 2.5 mm and passes through a short section of trunking from the CU to the ceiling, and there is no thermal insulation for it to pass through. The circuit consists of 6 double and a single socket, and no spurs fused or unfused. The area that it serves...

Right i've tested the downstairs circuit and I can confirm it is a ring. Can i replace the MCB for a 32A or maybe a 20A

If it turns out to be on the ring what kind of modifications would be required to make this circuit suitable, and if its a radial am looking at having to have it made into a ring?

On checking my ground floor ring is operating on a 16A MCB. Will this cause problems with having two high load appliances on it?

How can I ensure the circuit isnt unbalanced. The extra wiring to and from the fused spurs will only add to around 2 metres, With a metre running vertically from each of the 3 fused spurs to the flex outlets supplying the appliances. The new section will be feeding in this order, cooker hood...

I could join the ring in the back of the socket, iwas just concious of having too many wires behind the double. I was planning to run the wiring horizontally to the fused spurs and vertically to the flex outlets. I have not contacted any authorities as yet but will be before work commences...
