BAXI BOILER GRAVITY FED - NO WATER SUPPLIED TO PUMP????

These old systems are prone to cold feed becoming blocked and boiling away the water. Check tank is full of water, if so open rad vent, no water means blocked cold feed. If there is water and pump valves are opened and can push finger in then either air lock or blocked pipes.

Droning noise in central heating boiler

http://live.menmedia.co.uk/Event/Gas_explosion_in_Shaw?Page=0 The reason above and other gas explosions are rare is because of laws regarding installation and use of gas, something you are unable to prove your competent in so keep out of areas you lack recognised skills so we can keep the...

Old back boiler no heating downstairs

Only if you work fast and no problems if there is your buggered. You can get a bung kit that makes a tanked system tempory sealed once you stick them in the tank pipes, and drain off the water presure, you are mostly dry part from some dribbling and gurgles now and then. Not fool proof tho.

Old back boiler no heating downstairs

Sounds like you need to stick a new pump in, with the tank being warm I suspect some sludge in system so a tub of system cleaner and a flush. Something you don't want to diy in cold times, but if the pump valves are like a gate valve with a shaft you may be in luck,if not a new set pump and...

    Whining in central heating pipes

It sounds like a flue/fan problem on the surface of what you say... but could be stuck valve not open flly pump or worse gas/air problem. Get the boiler on for central heating and turn the boilers ch stat down till the burner goes out. The pump should run on. If the nose stops the its a...

Droning noise in central heating boiler

Not always some well protected can be safe still, this is mostly down to movement which causes leak or people adjusting joints and not testing the joints as a RGI would know how to. Argument is won here you can dribble on will lol at the thread more in the cc section

Droning noise in central heating boiler

Yes they start fires but are not as explosive if tampered with, this is normally due to overloading for falty installations components/tampering with. same thing with gas but gas flows out of a open pipe, where electrics wait for contact to earth. Also electrics has sieving with helps...

Droning noise in central heating boiler

Ok electrics are deadly when touched and earthed. Gas from leaks fills a room volume with gas and a spark makes it go bang it can also follow the gas pipe work and blowup more then a single home such as the flats while back. Products of combustion can kill as well in homes away from the...

Droning noise in central heating boiler

The op needs a RGI simple as that, if you refer to the forum rules some aspects you can't comment on this being one of them. Joe has no gas certs as I am sure you do not. It's not a case of helping him its a case of untrained muppets like joe reading forum taking apart a boiler to try what's...
