IS my Under Floor Heating installation ruined ?

Guys, I accept that to replace the whole screed and pipework etc will be costly but this is down to the main contractor. His work is very good, has been complemented by a lot of my friends who are associated with the building trades and the plumber he uses has been working for him for years...

IS my Under Floor Heating installation ruined ?

Hi, I am in the process of having an extension built that incorporates UFH totaling 75 sq meters set into 5 zones. This was installed a couple of weeks ago on top of 75mm Kingspan then screeded over with 80mm. The plumber pressure tested the UFH zones and left the system pressurized. The room...

Rads slow to heat up after new boiler install

Tony, did as suggested, all rads off except the four problem rads. They heated up more quickly and the heat was starting to permeate down to the bottom within 20 mins with the return pipe getting warm.

Rads slow to heat up after new boiler install

Guys, cheers for all the help thus far  Right, I have tested as follows :- Hot water off, system started from cold with max heating demand, all rads open fully. After about 2 mins, the 22mm Hot feed pipe by the pump starts to warm up, boiler output 45C and rising, hot water flowing...

Rads slow to heat up after new boiler install

As a test, if I switch everything off and start from a cold system but with the HW up to temp via immersion, how long would you say it SHOULD take for the rads to heat up to normal operating temp ?

Rads slow to heat up after new boiler install

All the pipework in the airing cupboard is 22mm. The CH main feed drops into the kitchen behind some fitted units and it appears that there is a 15mm spur coming off that as this is where the downstairs rads are connected and where the new 10mm plastic pipes connect. I cannot see whats going on...

Rads slow to heat up after new boiler install

The blue light is always on even when the programmer has the heating set to off.

Rads slow to heat up after new boiler install

Daz, the 3 port valve was replaced as part of the install so probably not that. Isolators are fitted either side of the pump so all good there if required to change. No, it was not BG who did the job, it was a local firm who were supposedly OK according to a friend in the building trade...

Rads slow to heat up after new boiler install

Tony, its thus a Y plan, its got a mid position motorised Honeywell valve. I have only just had the system installed and just got the invoice. In light of the above observations, should I insist on a new pump and add the cost of parts only, my thinking being that they should of strongly...

Rads slow to heat up after new boiler install

Guys, its not a combi, system boiler I think as there's stored hot water. Installers reckoned original pump would be ok. No one rad gets hot quickly, they all seem to take some time. Apparently, they used a power flusher for 5 hours to clean out the system. I saw the water when they...

Rads slow to heat up after new boiler install

First post on here, Hi everyone. I have just had my boiler replaced along with some rads repiped and a change of design to a sealed system. The old boiler was a very old Potterton netaheat that struggled to warm the house especially if someone had a bath and the hot tank needed reheating. The...
