i have a ideal classic boiler with automatic pilot,problem ive got is the boiler sometimes doesnt come on because the pilot light hasnt ignited....and then other times it comes on fine,any ideas as to what could be causing this please

weve had a gas fitter round . hes fitted the thermocoupel,and also a new fan as the one that was in was extremely noisy,and hes coming round again tommorow as its gone out again, was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. thnks for the reply

hi wondering if anyone has any ideas, we own a house which we rent out and were having proper trouble with the boiler. the pilot light keeps going out all the time...its had a new thermocoupel fitted and its still happening. the boiler is a glowworm compact 80p combi....many thanks

hi just wanted to let u know, found the problem,it was a loose pipe in the loft that was not clipped that was causing the noise.thnxs .

its also doing it when u have ran the shower then turn it off. when u run the taps on the sink its fine.just seems to be shower and bath,and just in the ensuite.

thnxs funny u should mention toilet ,because the toilet in our ensuite makes a whisling noise for ages after u have flushed it.

hi thnxs for reply. no not changed anything apart from replacing a outside tap last summer. what would u do with stop tap turn it up or down?

dont know if ive posted in right section but here goes. for the past 2 days wen ive ran the cold tap upstairs in the bathroom (we have 2) and then turned it of theres a really loud awfull humming drilling sound that lasts for about 2 minutes before stopping,its that loud you can hear it down...
