i know this may sound daft but is it normal to have a bit of steam coming from top of your bonnet when its raining? happened to me yesterday and never noticed before thanks

Rainwater falling on a relatively hot bonnet, vapourising, condensing in the colder air and producing visible steam: nothing unusual about that.

Of course it's worth checking your coolant level, the condition of the hoses, etc. under the bonnet just for peace of mind.
