Miele dishwasher, Miele engineer struggling to fix!

Yes that's what I thought. They'll have fitted £800 of parts by this weekend! Apparently it's too time consuming to bench test the parts, it's quicker (cheaper) to just fit new.

Miele dishwasher, Miele engineer struggling to fix!

I have a Miele dishwasher model 1022i that has been failing to start properly. The initial drain pump runs ok, then it stops with the drain/fill light flashing. 5 short and 1 long flashes. It will drain fine if I throw a bucket of water in there. I fitted a new partition kit - the old...

Thanks Ollski for your super quick reply.

    Drayton ZA5 actuator head alternative

I've had one of my two Drayton Za5 valves micro switches stick on me yet again, this time resulting in the HW permanently stuck on. I'm pretty sure it's this because if I hit it with a hammer it goes off for a while! And I have 4 of these over the years fail with similar faults. My question is...

    Circulation pump continuously running

Thanks for that Ian. I am just reading the boiler troubleshooting guide now and realised the term gravity seems to conflict with what I have. I have just opened the boiler cover to check the PCB and as soon as I powered it back on there was a loud buzzing noise from the PCB. I've had this before...

    Circulation pump continuously running

My circulation pump is continuously running. The HW and CH is otherwise working ie coming on and off as it should, but the pump stays on, and it never used to do this. The boiler is not staying on with the pump. It is operating as it should do when called for by HW and CH. I have had problems...

Swing valve or check vale and location

Excellent, thanks, just the answer I was looking for. I know the best solution is to run a new pipe to the tank but this is a retro fit not a new install so circumstances are different. Thanks.

Swing valve or check vale and location

Defintely not, that would involve removing the vanity unit & sink and running a feed through three walls or two outside, which would be more cost and a lot more time. Do the PEV include a non return system or do I need to fit a separate one. I don't want to restrict the hot flow any more than...

Swing valve or check vale and location

It sounds like a pressure equalisation valve might be helpful in this situation, do I still need the NRV or are they inbuilt into the PEV?

Swing valve or check vale and location

It was me that fitted it, and I'm not a plumber, so I should know better, but I don't! It was fine (but slow) however until she had a new boiler and tank fitted. There is a vanity sink up against the bath which would need to be removed to gain access to the taps, that's why I asked if the NRV...

Swing valve or check vale and location

In my mother-in-laws house she has a problem where the stored hot water tank is overflowing. The ball cock has been adjusted several times and finally a plumber has diagnosed the fault to the thermostatic bath mixer. He says I need to fit a non return valve to preferably the hot side as the...

    Hot water stuck ON

It's fixed! The pump does run after HW and CH off, but afte a few mins it stops. I guess it's intended to overrun for a while. The problem must have been the actuator as you said. Thanks for you help again.

    Hot water stuck ON

Well, I've swapped the suspect new actuator with my known working one from the CH. Now nearly all seems fine - the orange and brown wires to it are dead when the CH off and live when it's on, and the boiler only fires when required. However the pump is staying on regardless and I'm pretty sure...

    Hot water stuck ON

Well if necessary I can swap it for my other actuator off the CH as that is a known working unit. I'll have to do that tomorrow because the previous house owner has platerboarded over the wiring and I'll have to cut it out!

    Hot water stuck ON

I couldn't leave it! When the hw is off the switch is on A, orange live, brown dead. (I'm referring to the colour of the wires going TO the actuator, they are connected to wires of another colour). When the hw is switched to on the brown is live, and the switch moves across to B.
