Just out of interest, why is 1/4" too thick for finish? Is it because you would end up using too much if you're doing a whole wall etc. or is there some other reason, like it won't be stable/crack/difficult to flatten etc. PS I will deffo be getting a professional in if I have anything more...

So, just to be clear, 2 coats 5:1 pva 2nd coat tacky, then 2 (or more?) layers of multi.

I am patching a small area in a corner of an internal wall ~1m2 which has 2 layers of render, 2nd layer with Wickes 30:1 waterproofer. This is now completely dried out (had to go away) & I need to skim it to prevent the ear ache from you know who :roll: 1. Do I need to unibond or wet down...
