There are currently two live wires to an appliance. I was wondering what these two would be for?

Thanks. I hadn't realised that there was an outside UK section. Perhaps it can be moved if required? Curious to know what the two wires in 1 and 4 here would be linked to? Seems to be two appliance wires in both.

Thanks flameport. The time switch controls an outdoor oil boiler, Gerkros I believe. No thermostat.
