Hi,

Just a quick question on if my current set up is compatible with the Hive system and if it's a case of a simple wiring swap?

Current time switch:

The single channel Hive could replace that timer.

Whether it is suitable depends on what that timer is connected to, and if there are any other controls such as a thermostat.

Thanks flameport.

The time switch controls an outdoor oil boiler, Gerkros I believe. No thermostat.

Oil boiler is ok for use with the Hive.

3 & 4 on the old timer are L & N on the new.
2 on old timer = 1 Common on the Hive
1 on old timer = 3 Heating on.

Should really be in "Outside UK" - there may be regulatory issues in the RoI of which we are unaware.

Thanks. I hadn't realised that there was an outside UK section. Perhaps it can be moved if required?

Curious to know what the two wires in 1 and 4 here would be linked to? Seems to be two appliance wires in both.

It does actually say on the box.
3 and 4 are power to the timer.
1 and 2 are the relay contacts.
So
3 goes to L Hive
4 goes to N Hive
1 goes to 1 Hive
2 goes to 3 Hive

There are currently two live wires to an appliance. I was wondering what these two would be for?

Thanks ericmark, appreciated. Hope you're enjoying the holiday period.
