    Sunvic Valve Body Question

Thanks John, I'll give that a go tomorrow.

    Sunvic Valve Body Question

Gate valve (bottom left) To Motorised Valve (actuator mounting plate visible middle right) into coil out of coil to T joint (up to AAV, flow towards gate valve) Gate Valve (middle left) All assuming that the flow does go GV MV COIL (AAV) GV, I don't know for sure ;-)

    Sunvic Valve Body Question

The Solar Thermal has been switched off for about 8 years now, just that, switched off, no other attempts have been made to decommission it, the solar collector is still connected to the tank via it's own separate coil. The hot water has been OK up until yesterday. The Boiler Coil is as you see...

    Sunvic Valve Body Question

There it is, the valve actuator mounting plate is middle right, both gate valves on the left, out of shot at the top is an Auto Air Valve, also out of shot is piping to the other coil which is for the Thermal Solar heating (long since switched off!)

    Sunvic Valve Body Question

Thanks for getting back to me, It does not get hot at the valve inlet.

    Sunvic Valve Body Question

There are 2 gate valves to my tank coil, Assuming that the motorised valve is in the flow line (it's the lower of the two connections) it goes thus, Gate valve Motorised valve Coil Gate valve As far as I am aware both gate valves are and always have been fully open. If there is air trapped in...

    Sunvic Valve Body Question

Thanks for your response John :giggle: I did indeed get the boiler to fire. The radiators etc all work fine but I have no flow through the hot water valve to the tank coil in any usage configuration, Hot water only = boiler fires but no flow to tank coil Radiators only = ditto Hot Water &...

    Sunvic Valve Body Question

Slightly strange question! Got up yesterday morning and no hot water, the system has a hot water tank and two Sunvic 2 port motorised valves, 1 for the radiators, the other for the coil in the hot water tank. I went through the usual checks and am satisfied that the controls and boiler are...

    Worcester Bosch, Why Not?

Thanks for the considered answer Dok :-), I was curious about the anti WB feeling on here, clearly it is to late to for me to fret about it anyway! I am very much enjoying the fact that my new boiler starts, near silently and on cue every time, and that it is load modulating + weather...

    Condensing exhaust temperature

So Bernard and and Vulcan, is it your contention that the water vapour in boiler flue gas does not have the latent heat of evaporation within it? I think that Wikipedia chose to qualify water vapour as "(steam)" merely to make the concept more familiar to the layman. After all engines and...

    Worcester Bosch, Why Not?

"Goofy" Good one, that's how I'm beginning to feel having had one fitted in January! ;-) As you and I seem to be the only fans so far, what is RIGHT with Worcester Bosch Boilers? Cheers, "GOFFY". None taken, the old moniker has been made much worse of over many years :-)

    Worcester Bosch, Why Not?

As an innocent abroad, and mere home owner, I have just had my first ever new boiler installed, and as I have had a few little puzzles about life, heating systems, and everything, I have been on here a fair bit recently! One of the things I've picked up on here is that Worcester Bosch boilers...

    Condensing exhaust temperature

Direct quote from Wikipedia "One of the hot gases produced in the combustion process is water vapour (steam), which arises from burning the Hydrogen content of the fuel. A condensing boiler extracts additional heat from the waste gases by condensing this water vapour into liquid water, thus...

    Part L, Interlock?

Thank you Gentlemen, that is what I suspected :) The WIKI section here strongly implies that the device must be a room thermostat! But in fact a "device(s)" is required, the type of device is not specific. The controls here were wired incorrectly when I moved in, this resulted in the boiler...

    Part L, Interlock?

Thanks for your input Dan, On my system I have 13 rads, all with Wiser smart stats which are all, via the Wiser Hub, able to start and stop the boiler completely by energising/de energising the switched live (as opposed to the permanent mains connection to the boiler). Thus if all 13 rooms...
