The plastix tray has a metal welded frame inside it that the legs are joined to. I presume this is the kind of thing you were on about making for it?
I read about them on some of the posts on here, it would appear they stick onto the top of the shower tray and fix behind the tiles, creating a watertight seal.

UPDATE:
Problem sorted, I removed the rubber washer then cleaned it up with some hot soapy water. I sprayed it with a silicone rubber lubricant and refitted it.
Now nice and quiet.
I have a standard coupled basin/cistern, approx 18 years old.
When you flush the toilet there is a fog horn type noise, I have taken the top of the cistern and the noise stops when i pull the ball up.
The cold water feed pipe vibrates quite badly when the noise happens and you put your hand...
Would I get away with bonding the pipes under the sink, which also feeds the shower at the opposite side of the wall? (All pipes are under the floor)
Should I also bond the cold water pipe to the WC?
