    Honeywell T3636 upgrade to smart

Just checked again and it was the Nest E with the Nest E heat link. Is this what you mean.

    Honeywell T3636 upgrade to smart

Ok, didn’t pick that up. I watched the Nest wired starter video and they replaced a 3 wire stat (brown, blue earth) with the battery powered heat link and paired that with the mains powered stat. Would the Nest E just be a straight replacement for the existing Honeywell t6363b1028 stat?

    Honeywell T3636 upgrade to smart

Thanks Ian. since posting I’ve done a bit of Googling and it does look like what you say is what I need - change the Honeywell wired stat with a heat link paired with a Nest stat. It is just heating they want to switch on/off (they do this manually without any timers) and hot water is on demand.

    Honeywell T3636 upgrade to smart

My inlaws have decided they would like a smart heating system where they can remotely switch on/off the heating as and when. I haven’t been to see exactly what they have but I know they have a combo boiler in the airing cupboard with a wired Honeywell T3636B1028 downstairs with three wires...

    FCU as a junction box?

Thanks Endecopt, is that a yes to using the nonswitched fcu as a junction box, feeding a socket and another socket with another fcu coming off it?

    FCU as a junction box?

Hi, I want to run power/lighting into my conservatory. Inside the house there is a conveniently placed socket on a ring which I am going to tap into. Am I right in saying I can run a single 2.5mm t&e from the ring main socket, through the wall (about 0.5m) into a fcu 13A fuse, then onto 2...

    Breathable Membrane on Flat Roof?

Hi, I’m part way through building a lean-to extension with a flat roof. Due to space and other restrictions it’s a cold roof but has plenty of ventilation and gap. I’ve built the roof structure and fitted the firrings for the slope and am ready for the osb deck then epdm roof. Talking to a...

    Fixing firrings

Thanks John, so fix the firrings to joists (I was going to used annular nails spaced out quite a bit) then pilot through firrings and fix to joists using something like a 100mm screw (for the thicker firring end) and taper screw size down to 50mm at the thin end?

    Fixing firrings

Hi, I’m in the process for building a timber framed conservatory and am getting towards the flat roof part. I’m fitting the joists to which I will attach firrings then 18mm t&g OSB with an epdm roof. I’ve search the forums and read that the firrings can be nailed to the joists but sparingly...
