Indesit interlock fault. Or is it?

After some abuse, the button now works every time so it wasn't the interlock after all. Maybe time to order a new control board.

Indesit interlock fault. Or is it?

The pin was indeed loose, though at the bottom. I pushed it down into position but the lock LED is still flashing. The start/reset button doesn't have that 'clicky' feel when pushed so I might have a look inside later and see if it's actually making a circuit.

Indesit interlock fault. Or is it?

I have a WIL133 washer that seems to have an intermittant interlock - related problem. I changed the switch which seemed to cure the fault, though not straight away. It then worked ok for a week but now the interlock won't lock the door and the door open light keeps flashing. If I force latch...

Damp: how far can it spread?

I had an independent surveyor have a look and he said the house needs more ventilation. He reckons that if the wrong materials are used on a house of this type, the plaster itself can exacerbate the damp by drawing moisture from the bricks and air. Once the plaster shows mould it's had it and...

Damp: how far can it spread?

The damp has gone from the rear wall pointing to the leaking gutter as the cause.

Damp: how far can it spread?

I want an independant survey done. I suspect the findings were a result of a conductivity test on it's own without the other tests that need to be done.

Damp: how far can it spread?

Yes it is, athough there was no mention of damp on the rear wall when the letting agent did the routine inspection. However, the damp-proofing surveyor reckons most of the downstairs internal walls including the other party wall are affected although no mention was made of this after the...

Damp: how far can it spread?

The back wall is now dry, indicating that the wonky gutter was to blame. Since my last post we had to have the floors renewed. The tenants were about to lay a laminate floor when they discovered the boards and joists were rotten. We got our friendly builders in and when they ripped up the...

Damp: how far can it spread?

Thanks for your replies. Woody, I've seen the black mould that you describe - a patch on the party wall in the front room from skirting level to waist height which, given that is the warmest room in the house, isn't where I would have expected to find mould. Most of this patch is slightly...

Damp: how far can it spread?

Hi, My mother's house is a mid-terrace 100 year-old property with a strange damp problem. The ground floor rear wall has been damp for years and was skimmed a few years back. When decorating recently, we found the paper was damp and came off easily, as did the plaster beneath. I had a look...

    Ford Fiesta service/warrenty

I see this thread isn't new but my experience may be of use to others. I had an 03 Focus with a water pump bearing failure during the second year of warranty. I had the supplying dealer fix it only for him to ask me for £300 saying it wasn't under warranty as I'd had an independent garage do...

    Bathroom extractor fan

I paid about £14 for it. They are popular but one of my customers thought was too noisy for an en-suite. There's no door between bedroom and bathroom. I got this as a replacement but in the meantime she bought a Vent-Axia which was noticeably quieter when fitted, hence I have it as a spare. Note...

    Bathroom extractor fan

Camshie, I didn't realise I can't put contact details on here and there's no personal message service. You may as well get one from a DIY shed or electrical wholesaler as I can't think of a way to get in touch. It would cost about the same when postage is added. Good luck.
