loft insulation ..... no felt under the roof tiles

That's the problem ... there are no regulations or standards that apply to us (because we are not putting in dorma windows). And where the regulations do apply, one MUST (a regulation!) have an architect to check that all the standards are understood and followed properly. I've heard many...

loft insulation ..... no felt under the roof tiles

We're having our attic converted but have come across a stumbling block to do with insulating the ceiling. Our contractor comes from Portugal and has very different standards to what we Brits consider normal for insulation. I've been reading many discussions about the best insulation for...

    parquet primer panic

We have just had our parquet beautifully sanded but when the people put the primer on, they didn't put it on one plank at a time, they did it in blocks, so you can see, within each plank, where the different blocks of primer started and finished. Laying Parquet floor

Thanks WoodYouLike ... but I'm still confused as to what holds them in place when they are 2cm away from the wall ... and there's nothing to stop them moving .... wont big gaps appear due to people walking on them??

    Laying Parquet floor

We have just had some tongue and groove parquet floor layed but I am not sure whether it has been layed correctly - the fitters were friends of friends and apparently experienced parquet fitters ... The parquet is a floating oak solid wood planks 16mm thick. The fitters left a gap around...
