Gutter became loose in storms and now flaps against the roof tiles when the wind is in a specific direction - How to fix?

Found an retired builder who offered to sort it out for me. Not worth risking my life for :) He owed me a favour so parts only cost - swapped his time and skill for a bit of computer tuition ;) . Thanks all...

Gutter became loose in storms and now flaps against the roof tiles when the wind is in a specific direction - How to fix?

Hi DAZB. I will get myself equipped with a tube of OB1 and wait for a nice dry calm day and get a man in to assist (hold the ladder) - ha ha... I can fashion a bit of copper I'm sure or maybe even a strip of thin but strong plastic that can hook over the edge of the gutter, run down the...

Gutter became loose in storms and now flaps against the roof tiles when the wind is in a specific direction - How to fix?

Hi All, I have a small problem with my gutter on my roof. We have a small side slope (I think it might be called a clipped gable) where the gutter empties out onto the main roof. We have lived here for 10 years and never a problem but when we had the near hurricane blowing from the east...

Thermostat replaced (difficult to source as chinese) but it fixed the problem completely. Now its at 4C at number 4 out of 6 and 5C at number 3 out of six.

Fridge Needs to be between 5 and 6 (6 = Max) to get cool then it freezes

Hi all, I have an LEC L5511 fridge and I have been checking the temperature of food inside as things seemed a bit warm (8C). It was on 4 out of 6. Moved thermostat to 5 and it went down hardly at all. Moved to 6 and everyting froze (ruining lots of veg. Is it normal for a thermostat to only...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

however.... before I do that does anyone have a view as to the most reliable. When I trawl amazon and the forums I see that there are loads of complaints about most of the makes - especially the Drayton Lifestyle's and relays failing and doing random things (like mine) and also the Honeywell...

thanks all. I will get a new "brand new" controller as a 1st step and see if all is well. If not then I will resurrect the thread.

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

I'm thinking that too. Can I be that unlucky though..... Any recommendations on a reliable programmer. I only need separate independant control of the HW and CH, same times every day but CH and HW on for differing lengths. Prefer mechanical with no relays if available but I can only see timers...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

Hi, I did the testing with the plate off the wall but the controller properly attached. You can then do the testing with a multimeter at the rear of the backplate. I've done a bit more troubleshooting and removed 3&4 wires so only L & N are connected. I then did various on and off's for the...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

... just to add to that. Then long and short of it is that my HW always starts before the heating so 99% of the time its not an issue. I tried to boost the HW that had turned off while the CH was still on and it didn't work. That's how I found out. I rarely do this. I guess If I need to then...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

hi, 1st stage complete. If this throws no light then I'll measure HW valve and cyl stat. I have done some more permutations and noticed the following: If the heating is on first (regardless of demand or not from heating) then the HW does not work. Took the faceplate off wall to measure...

Drayton LP722 doing odd things with HW - Plea for help from Wiring guru

Hi, I wonder if some central heating wiring expert would be good enough to give me a helping hand. I had the following: Greenstar 24i system boiler Grasslin QE2 controller – set to Fully pumped) Fully pumped system with 2 x zone valves (one for CH and one for HW) Room stat HW tank stat...

Dulux endurance+ matt paint for pipe boxing

Ok cool. thanks for that. I have an old tin of homebase weathercoat "quick drying exterior primer undercoat". Any reason the exterior product should not be used inside too. Saves me a few quid buying an interior specific one...... If latter then is WICKES TRADE ALUMINIUM WOOD PRIMER okay...

Dulux endurance+ matt paint for pipe boxing

Hi, I have just painted my walls with a few coats of endurance+ and now need to turn my attention to the pipe boxing in (waste pipe) that runs the length of one wall. The other half wants it the same colour / finish as the walls and I wanted to know if anyone has used the endurance+/Diamond...
