Well at last it's time to say Thank-you!
It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was blocked internally and connecting a hose into the shower valve and blowing mains pressure through the hot port unblocked the damn thing and now my normal low pressure hot flows through enough to trigger the shower...
Ok i will try tonight - I need one part from the shop first tho and i will be able to connect an alternative supply.
The valve is clean as far as I can see. If its blocked/seized , its on the inside and i cant see it.
(I'm probably being stupid but... It isn't some sort of safety feature...
I have moved the pump next to the HW cylinder and unfortunatly it still doesnt work???
I have since taken the whole shower bar valve assembly off the wall and i couldn't help but notice that that the inlet on the HW side seems to be blocked when i try to blow down it. (this is with the flow...
Can anyone tell me why converting the CW to tank pressure (ie balanced) will help? is the mains pressure forcing the HW back and therefore stopping the HW going through?
I could easily move the pump to the cupboard with the cylinder - What do you think my chances for success are if i did that?
and when you say change 25gallon to 50gallon tank - do you mean the CW storage tank in the loft?
I have arrived home and sorry but i was mistaken! Actually there is CW flow when i set the thermostat to a cold setting. As i said earlier there is just a measly trickle when it is turned to a hotter setting (and no pump flow switch triggering).
How would that be done? Is there a way of testing the valve like that to see if the valve is faulty... I supose it could be faulty. it's never worked since I got it out of the box - I blamed myself first :)
Yeah I totally agree I should have got a twin impeller and pumped both from the tank gravity pressure. I wish i had now! If theres no other way round it i will have to.
I have taken the valve off the wall and there are no obstructions like debris or bits of paper washer. the valve wont even...
When I moved into my current house I fitted a shower system with a thermostatic mixer bar and I installed a single impeller pump to boost the HW pressure. The existing shower (via the bath taps valve) was next to useless.
The CW pressure is very good - (possibly mains)
I connected a surrey...
