    B.T. Advice needed

I've got a problem with my telephone line which I thought I'd put to you experts first before calling B.T. out. The line has a crackle and I can't dial out. If somebody phones me they get an engaged tone and my phone doesn't ring at all. If I unplug all equipment from all telephone sockets the...

    vailliant ecomax problem

When I turn up the thermostat the heating comes on, the radiators are then too hot to touch in just a very short amount of time even though the thermostat is on very low. The boiler then doesn't cut out when the thermostat is turned down and I have to manually turn it off. Would this be a...

    installing a bath

Thanks for the suggestion but the soil pipe runs along the wall the bath is butted up against and then passes through the internal wall to the toilet which is in its own room next door, so can't be moved.

    installing a bath

I wish to replace my existing bath with a new one in the same position. Unfortunately the toilet soil pipe runs at floor level the full length of the bath along the wall the bath sits against (if this makes any sense). This would mean that I wouldn't be able to use the new baths supporting...

I find that modern day extinguishers are very very reliable and in six years of working...

    screwfix coving

Has anybody used the polyurethane coving sold by screwfix? They certainly sell it well in their description but hows it compare to good quality plaster coving? Thanks

    2 way switch problem

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately the switch isn't marked up L1 or L2, there is just three connection points on the top and three on the bottom, the com cable goes to opposite corners leaving two available points next to each other on each side (top and bottom of the switch) Would L1 and L2...

    2 way switch problem

I've just loosened the cover of a 2G 2 way switch to remove the old wall paper and three of the wires sprung loose! The switch is at the bottom of the stairs and one side operates (or used to) the 2 way landing light and the other side operates a hall light. Two twin and earth cables enter the...
