I have several of these sockets, from LAP and BG, around the house, and do not normally unplug the USB cables from the socket when not in use. Is this likely to cause any issues or considered bad practice?

Many thanks for the replies. If I can find enough slack, PBC_1966's suggestion would be excellent - hadn't thought of that! But in case I can't - very rough diagram below: Intermediate switch wiring would be as in the wiki, but with red and black instead of red and blue at the 4 terminals.
