Cheers for that. Looking like resin is the way forward! Looks fairly simple to install as well so think I will go down that route and fix the hanger to the rods when cured.
Its a solid block and of good quality so I don't expect it to crack with the pressure applied to it from the fixing and/or weight of the joist but thanks for the heads up on the resin fixing... I will look into that. Guessing these are just as strong but don't weaken the block?
I have a problem where a joist hanger was not installed correctly years ago and as such there is now a prominent drop at one end of the joist that needs repairing.
My solution is:
1. Acrow Prop underneath it and remove the old hanger which is secured into an exisiting masonary wall...
