Ok so I am new to this. Put up a new plasterboard wall round an old chimney breast, taped the joint and filled but couldnt get the joint really smooth so have decided to wallpaper over but the joint is still showing through do I need to go back to the start?? :cry:

First time at putting up skirting only thing is my walls are not straight is there something to fill the gap??

Which order should I decorate, I have to paint the walls and put on new skirting which needs varnishing Is it best to fit skirting then varnish or should I do a couple of coats then fit???
