    Megger vs Insulation tester?

A quick question for you sparkies out there... What is the difference between a megger installation tester, and an insulation tester (like the fluke 1507)? From what ive read, the insulation tester does the same thing and more, but at half the price or less. When would you use one over the...

Best way to drill hole in floor flush against wall?

Not according to the shed manufacturers guidance. The base is built to the size as per their instructions in the assembly manual.

Best way to drill hole in floor flush against wall?

I did it using the long drill bit method. I found i had 4x 400mm sds bits in my drawer. I did the initial hole 8mm the stepped it up to 16mm, 20mm and finished off at 22mm. This was a lot harder to drill through without hammer action than i have experienced in the past. I did it with hammer...

Best way to feed electric to this shed inlet?

The garage CU is supplied by a 10mm radial from the main CU in the house.

Best way to feed electric to this shed inlet?

Because its not just one socket in the shed, it will be several. A radial will have to come from the far side of the garage, approx 5m away as the crow flies, and go around the perimeter of the garage to get to the shed. Extending the ring can come from a socket already in situ on the wall of...

You can do it, dw i have it covered, this isnt my issue. I dont want it surface level to prevent damage.

Best way to drill hole in floor flush against wall?

Yes i want to drill down through the slab. I will start off with a small diameter drill without hammer action and gradually work my way up to 20mm. Its been done before. If it breaks because it is so close to the edge i will simply re-concrete. Drilling downward means i can run conduit down...

Best way to feed electric to this shed inlet?

Sorry i may have mis-represented the issue, is there a better way to do it than using junction boxes and conduit?

Best way to feed electric to this shed inlet?

I didn't want the sharp end if the screws sticking through on the inside. Whether its a nut and bolt or self tappers isnt really the issue, both are easily done. I was just wondering if there was a better way to do the job than im currently thinking.

Best way to feed electric to this shed inlet?

Hi guys. Please take a look at the picture attached. This is the rubber grommet plugging the hole where electric cable is to be fed to the shed. The garage is 50cm away with its own CU, so im simply going to extend the ring to run to the shed and back out re-joining the garage. My...

Best way to drill hole in floor flush against wall?

Hi guys. The title may be a little misleading but essentially sums up what i need to do. Please take a look at the picture attached. I need to drill or make a neat hole big enough to fit 20mm conduit in the slab below the rubber grommet, with the edge of the hole only a few mm away from the...

    Some decking questions

Hi all, I am about to construct a fairly large area of decking in my back garden (approx 25sqm) however it is something ive never done before. Im planning on using 125mm x 47mm C24 for the frame and joints. The decking will be an L shape. Its two longest edges that run perpendicular to each...
