    Cracks in recent work :(

Good evening to you Ken It’s a private road and I own up to where the 2 fence lines converge so a fair bit further into the road is mine

Thanks for this - the guy is coming back to have a look next week Problem is I am not very knowledgable in this area as you can probably tell and am keen to learn a bit more about how it should be done so it gets done right Do you think in it's present state it can be made good? How would you...

    Cracks in recent work :(

I used a highly recommended guy (recomended by a builder friend) to do some work for me but it is cracking after just a few months, absolutely gutted How bad do these look - am I overeacting being really concerned by it? Are they repairable by the looks of things? Driveway edging: Patio...

It's not exactly doing any harm is it? An additional RCD. I'm not going to put time and effort into removing an additional safety device. Earlier in the thread I was being castigated for not measuring the distance and trip speed from the consumer unit, which is some distance away, the reason...

What's abhorrent is your attitude. I recognised that it wasn't done right & am seeking help to remedy it. This is a DIY forum, which stands for 'Do It Yourself', you obviously have a problem with this & don't want to provide help / support to others & just throw your weight around & sidetrack...

Looking at these gland kits, what is the difference between 20 and 20S and internal / external (all the internal ones seem to be have the same IP rating as the external ones)

It was like that when we moved in, it's right on the other side of the house from the CU and is the socket the previous occupier used for the mower & garden tools

Bodging the SWA sheath into a terminal block is just that- a bodge. Gland it off properly- Pirahna earth nuts are much easier than standard gland nuts. >> Didn't realise it was a bodge at the time but do now & will rectify & that is what this thread is for as I realised it wasn't correct Good...

Not a whole lot of explanation there though really is there. I think you're the one who doesn't know what you're doing. You don't seem to be able to comment on any technical aspect of this project whatsoever other than a load of old pony about metals and that the world will end when I plug my...

It's not rocket science though is it. All I've got from this so far is that I need to fit a £2 part to each end of the cable with very easy instuctional videos on YouTube. Looks like I'll just have to buy one of each type from screwfix and figure it out myself for all the help you've been so...

Also what's the name of the item / can anyone link to the item I need...

No there is still an earth, one of the cores is used as an earth. Doubt much corrosion will take place between now & tomorrow when I will fix it if that's all that is wrong with it then it's a not going to be a big deal to fix over an hour or so

Hi thanks for your help, it is as follows: The house's main consumer unit is RCD protected for mains power Then inside the lounge on the wall there is one of these connected to the mains: 13A 30MA DOUBLE POLE PASSIVE RCD CONNECTION UNIT This has a wire that runs through the wall of the house...
