Get Rid of it and use a bucket less hastle,Why o why do people fit these should be outlawed .
Either vent to outside or the carbon filter has been omitted / or not performing.
You sure the lids fitted correctly as well with the seal.
Silicon inside and more than likely you will get a leak. You will prevent the water from draining freely to tray by sealing inside due to design water will make its way to outside.
If you doubt our wisdom feel free to seal inside.
Run the pipes in plastic , then again you have the potential with leaks if using compression fittings. Do as others have said, Denso is fine . If tiles are sealed / grouted there will be no problem with leaks .It only takes a min to rattle in some foam and once trimmed gives a nice level tiling...
If your shower screen has been siliconed from the inside thats more than likely your problem . If so remove all the sealant from the inside of the screen ans seal ONLY on the outside , See if this does the trick.
Not disputing the solvent bit but the two might not be solvent weld compatable, Sometimes they have to be drilled the right size as there can be a raised lip on the boss that should sit inside . After fitting I always put on a THIN smear of silicon just to make sure dosnt do any harm just in case!
