first posting hi everyone.just fitted new taps to the bath and they seem to be leaking from inside the body of the tap coming out the bottom where the top hat is fitted?

You sure its from the top.
Taps with tails are usally cast as one ,if the top of the bath is dry it must be from the joints .
Have you replaced the red fibre washers and nipped them up tight ?
Sometimes the tails on the taps are a wee bit shorter than the origionals and tail couplings are not seating right home.
dry them off with kitchen towel and with a torch see where its leaking from.
