The earth is still there on the cable but there is no way to connect earth to the light. The subsequent lights willl be the exact same double insulated light and will have twin and earth cable running to the next light but only neutral and live will be connected.

Thanks. The earth is still there to the light but ive just nipped the 3 mm of copper off the end of the wire and its inside the light fitting at present. So any other light could be fitted straight away.

How do you carry earth as no provison for it and they are double insulated

It comes in one end and has a live and neutral push fit and nothing else

I'll have a look. I just assumed with my ignorance just needed a standard 2 wire cable. Doesn't seem to be any obvious lap cabling at screwfix.

I've only trimmed about 5 mm max off. The earth cant run to the end. The light has a live and neutral at one end if just one light but if adding a 2nd light then an axrra cable live and neutral only goes into push fit off other end of light and then runs to the next light in series. Does that...

I just trimmed the nexcess copper off. It wasn't used in the old light as such was just screwed into a copper / brass block into plastic fitting so not doing anything as such. But will get a insulating block. So I can easy add several more lights without issue on same switch. Thanks for your help
