    Powermax 155x & Hive

Can't help you with the wiring install as BG installed mine, but I can tell you that you may still need the integral timer to work in conjunction with the Hive stat, i.e the hot water needs to be switched on at the boiler panel in some shape or form for the Hive stat to control the heating...

    Powermax 155x & Hive

No one said what your suggesting is wrong. Just that there are other configurations available on the boiler, which as it turns out is what I’ve been using for the past 13 years. With the only exception being I’ve changed from a Honeywell stat to a hive stat to control the CH. Also, if the HW...

This^^^ Just said this in my above reply. Recommended or not, setting the internal timer to control the HW in conjunction with the hive stat is working for me - Job done! (y)(y)(y)

Ok, you say 'must' but why is there a physical switch giving the options of continuous, off and timed? I understand that to get full 24/7 remote functionality of the hive thermostat the HW has to be constantly on, but however, if like me you don't want the boiler kicking in in the early hours...

    Powermax 155x & Hive

This is how I think mine is currently set as. I’m still using the internal timer to control the boiler time (so HW is not on constant but timed). The Hive only kicks in once the heating comes on through the internal boiler timer. If I try to boost the Hive when the internal timer is off...

    Powermax 155x & Hive

Hi all, I'm after a bit of advice and/or reassurance. I've recently had Hive installed (single channel receiver) via BG (British Gas) and it works very well, however, the concern I have is that the hot water has to be set to 'Continuous' via the switch on the left hand side of the boiler and...

I've another clue to the puzzle. Just tried running the hot tap on the bath, but not at full flow and it worked. It ran for about 5 mins without fail.

Not sure if they’re ceramic discs but a 1/4 turns the tap on fully.

    Powermax 155x

If I run other hot taps in the house, they work and run hot. If I let the bath hot tap ‘run dry’ then the other hot taps don’t work (nothing comes out). It seems like there’s not enough hot water for the demands of the bath. If I wait five minutes and retry the hot water will work again...

    Powermax 155x

No, it does start off running hot, but kind of ‘runs out’ and runs dry, and at the point it runs dry there’s a thud noise from the boiler?

All, I have the above boiler which is acting up, the symptoms being: Bath hot water tap runs dry after a while when the CH is on. Bath hot water tap runs dry immediately when the CH is off. Separate thermostatic shower runs ok? I've had this problem before and it was resolved by replacing the...
