    When a hot tap is switched on the piston on the diverter valve moves out and stops just shy of the microswitch - a scew driver blade in between the piston cap and switch sets the hot water running as per normal. Can't face kneeling under the boiler whilst the family all take showers...

    Ollski You were quite right - thanks you for the advice which is much appreciated. New fan much better product as it has a built in vibration damper, the old one was 6 years old and rather noisy.

    Venturi cleaned off, looks OK. Fault remains. The fan seems to take longer than previously to get going.
