after a weeks hols I got round to asking BT for a line check. They've said that the line is fine and 40.2 is within their acceptable operating limits. Not sure what options that leaves me now? Is there a way of testing the Com2400 to see if that is faulty? many thanks

Morning all I've checked for 50v at the NTE5 and the extension outlet that the Com2400 is plugged into. At both I have 40.2v, is this close enough to the 50v or is this likely to be the cause of the problem? thanks again for the help.

Thanks Alarm It's hard wired to the rear of the master socket using 2 and 5, then a cable run of around 6 metres to a slave socket in which the RJ11 fly lead is plugged in. I've ran a pre-made extension cable from the test socket on the master to the Com2400 previously and still had the...

Checked the Com2400 this evening and there isn't 50v across T & R. The extension cable is hard wired into the back of a master socket (built in filter) using 1,2 and 5. I tried using 2 and 5 onlyas per the instructions, however I couldn't get a dialing tone on the extension line.

Thanks all The line is currently wired to an extension point at the moment and connected to the panel via a RJ11 cable (BT socket to RJ11 type) into the onboard WNV port. Will I need to wire the line direct to T and R to check 50v or can this be done on the extension? many thanks for...

Thanks pal, is there anything in particular I'm looking for on the RKP when pressing 0? I seem to have a series of random letters and numbers. I can see a couple of ok's in there and a 50, does that make sense? thanks again

Got the cable - Many many thanks to Sparkymarka for sorting me out. I've powered down and fitted it this evening but unfortunately I'm still getting the ATS path fault and ATS unavailable messages. I've tried two different extension cables from the master socket and also tried extensions...

Ah I seem to have come across another problem! I can't find the flylead....must have put it somewhere safe.... :oops: :oops: Anyone know where you can get spares from?

I'll try it with the link and see what happens. At the moment its wired into the RJ11 connection direct to a telephone extension outlet. I've had it wired to T+R as well though but still couldn't get it to work.
