    Central Heating troubles.

A plumber from Persimmon's contractor has finally visited to inspect, and was horrified that it my central heating system does not have a pressure relief valve. He admitted it is a legal requirement, as he phoned to book an urgent job with his office, they asked him, "can the customer hear...

    Central Heating troubles.

I phoned Persimmon, and they say they'll speak to the plumber. I hope to get a call tomorrow. Apparently my 2 year guarantee is up on the 21st December, so it's close. Below is lots of pics:

    Central Heating troubles.

Thanks for your reply, I am going to take some pictures tonight. It is a sealed system. There is a braided flexible pipe which is used to re-pressurize the system, I figured that out after bleeding the radiators a year ago. There is a thing at the top of the airing cupboard which looks like a...

    Central Heating troubles.

Hi, Can someone please explain to an idiot like me how things work on my central heating? I have a conventional boiler (Glowworm Flexcom HX 12) with a MegaFlow Tank, which has a gauge on a pipe in the airing cupboard. Q. Do Heatrae Sadia make this megaflow tank? Q. Does the Mega Flow...

    Broken Shower Door Rollers

Hello One of the rollers holding one of the shower doors on cracked this morning. The plastic has just split, see the pictures. I'm now worried because a builder friend has said I'll need to buy a new enclosure! I don't know what make the enclosure is or where it came from so...

Regenerating Air Gap on a MegaFlow

Hi "Turn water back on and hot tap off" Is that sequence important? I would have turned the hot tap off first, then turn the cold feed back on. Thanks

Regenerating Air Gap on a MegaFlow

Thanks, I'll leave it off I think, after we've used the hot water up Saturday morning. It is a year old this month, and thought I'd get it serviced. I phoned the company this morning who installed it and they say they don't service them! They'd only service the boiler, because the MegaFlow...

Regenerating Air Gap on a MegaFlow

Hi This maybe a stupid question, but I'd like to try regenerating the air-gap on the Megaflow hot water tank. Do I do this with the system on (i.e. water being heated) or turn it off. Or does it even matter? Thanks

Monobloc Kitchen Taps and Flexible Tap Tails

Just thought I'd end this thread with a happy note to say the seller refunded me in full. It's taught me a lesson, never again that's for sure. Sometimes doing things on the cheap ends up costing you more.

Monobloc Kitchen Taps and Flexible Tap Tails

Right, I finally got to speak to someone late Monday, and we agreed to some replacement taps to be sent Tuesday to arrive Wednesday. They didn't arrive. So after another phone call, they said they'd send them Wednesday. A replacement, new model tap, arrived Thursday. It was a bit...

Monobloc Kitchen Taps and Flexible Tap Tails

Called back at 2pm, the one chap who can help still isn't in. I was told he'll be in at 2:15 and will call me. At 15:40 I phoned for a 3rd time after receiving no call. The response is the chap's car has broken down and he will call me in the next few minutes when he gets in. I'm getting a...

Monobloc Kitchen Taps and Flexible Tap Tails

Sometimes its good to know I'm just not being totally stupid, and its not my fault I can't achieve something like fitting some new taps. Thanks for your input :)

Monobloc Kitchen Taps and Flexible Tap Tails

Thanks That sounds a good idea and could work when fixing the first pipe on, but then I think there may not be enough room to tighten the second tail. Thats what I thought, but they just dribble when the water is truned on. I have tried lubricating them with Boss White, then grease, then...
