Candy Grand O Washing Machine - Model GO 482/2-80

Does anybody know the error codes for this washing machine. I am having problems with it - it won't go into spin mode, the drum just turns. Its pumping out ok. but just drains and stops and I am getting an error code of 16 flashes. Anyone know what fault this indicates?

Candy Grand O 482/2-80 Fault Codes

Hi there, yes the PCB was pre programmed and the household wiring is ok. We'll take your comments on board and see if we can get hold of a multimeter to test the machine. I'll keep you posted

Candy Grand O 482/2-80 Fault Codes

Hi Zipper, We've unplugged the PCB and reconnected it. Checked the wiring from the PCB, but still no joy with the heater, cold water only. However, we've noticed that when the machine is off, there is a dim light showing on the mains tester across the heater element terminals...

Candy Grand O 482/2-80 Fault Codes

Hi Zipper, thanks for your reply. Yes its very frustrating! OK we'll give all that you have suggested a try, my other half tells me that there is power to the heating circuit. So we'll unplug and replug everything again. I'll let you now progress :) Maggie

Candy Grand O 482/2-80 Fault Codes

Does anyone have the fault codes for my Candy Washing Machine? I've just replaced the PCB and NTC probe, its going through a programme but didn't seem to be heating! However at the end of the programme it was flashing on the 90min mark and the stain button at intervals of 14. :?

    Another Candy Washing Machine problem!

Hi Zipper, Thanks for all the help. If I can find the part, there will be no problem getting it brought out to Spain, the family and friends are always coming and going. Also,as this is a UK machine I don't know if the part will be readily available in Spain. So do you know of anyone...

Sorry Zipper didn't read your post properly  The price doesn't look too bad!

    Another Candy Washing Machine problem!

Hi Zipper :( Thanks for that, I had a feeling that the answer would not be a simple fault! Right, first question, is it a straight forward job to fit a new PCB? Second, I am presuming I can get hold of one fairly easily - I can always get it sent out from the UK. And pricewise is it...

    Another Candy Washing Machine problem!

Hi Zipper :( Well I ran the diagnostic test with no result. All the LED's illuminated, the machine took on water and started heating up straight away! In fact I let the test run for a good half hour or so, by that time the water was boiling in the drum :!: and steam was coming out the door...

    Another Candy Washing Machine problem!

Thanks Zipper, well we're up and running! All the LED's are illuminated. The selector button is on 60c pre-wash, the machine has taken on water and is now heating up (I am presuming this is what should happen?) How long does the diagnostic test roughly take? I realise that there will be...

    Another Candy Washing Machine problem!

Hi Zipper. Before I start this test I've noticed that the spin speed button does not have an LED. The onlyt buttons with LED's are beneath the time and spin speed indication strip, they are from left to right, Stain Vanish, Allergy Care and Fast Wash. Am I to presume that if the...

    Another Candy Washing Machine problem!

Hi Zipper, thanks for replying. You are correct there is not an LCD screen on the machine. Apart from the various function buttons, there is an illuminated strip which counts down the time of wash (ie 90/60/30 mins) and also shows the spin speed. As for a diagnostic test, well I'll give it...

    Another Candy Washing Machine problem!

So my understanding is, if the NTC sensor is permanently open circuit and there is water in machine, does that mean its constantly heating and thus will not allow me to select any other program? I have noticed that when I bail the water out of the machine, when it gets down to a certain level...

    Another Candy Washing Machine problem!

Thanks Zipper. I've just tried the machine again (albeit without a load). It's definitely not throwing up an error code. However, the machine went straight into heating mode again. It would seem that your last suggestion is the most probable. Will try the multimeter next. Many thanks...
