Lost a few shingles after recent storm, what to do?

It is not leaking, concern is lose shingles falling on someone's head and maybe a leak potentially developing? Not sure if it's common for people to just leave shingles broken, I guess maybe?

Lost a few shingles after recent storm, what to do?

Yes could be cement slates, I don't know exactly what they are. Not quite sure where ladder would go either he just said he could do it. He just went up there and started walking around taking pictures. CP sounds good but I think I'm getting to the point where claiming seems more cost...

Lost a few shingles after recent storm, what to do?

Will look into it and do some maths then, my home insurance is only like £300/year now so maybe worth to lose... thanks!

Lost a few shingles after recent storm, what to do?

I am insured but from everything I've read it's cheaper to pay £750 than to have premiums go up £400-500 every year by losing no claims discount. Surely if I higher a professional who says they can do the work it's up to them? If they say they can do it with ladder I don't see how I could be...

Lost a few shingles after recent storm, what to do?

Thanks. Are these likely to come in below the £750 quote anyways? I guess if £500 or so it would be worth getting more quotes. And how important is it to actually get fixed? would a few broken shingles cause leaks?

Lost a few shingles after recent storm, what to do?

2 shingles fell off the roof in the last storm. One hit part of the guttering which is functional but half broken. We're in a tall 3-floor town house so access is a concern. Had 3 people come out to look at it, first guy said he'd do it on ladder, it's a small job but charge for the high...

Ideal Classic HE15 (with Boilermate OV Class A) finally packed up what to do...

It was rust in the end that made them not fix it. They were quite fair and send another more senior guy to look at it who agreed, casing not safe. Just dumb that the first guy didn't tell me in the first place. Replaced with a baxi 415 for like £2k, working well so far!

Replaced heat only boiler now overheating

    Blocked condensate drain! Now fixed

Replaced heat only boiler now overheating

It was the pipes. A long time later engineer came and swapped the pipes and then it worked just fine, for two days.... Yesterday I heard lots of bubbling gurgling kettling and it was instantly overheating. Now today it keeps restarting won't really fire properly, hear a bit of bubbles then it...

Replaced heat only boiler now overheating

That was my first potential solution but temp knob has a sticker as I'm not supposed to mess with it yet! Swapping directions sounds slightly better :)

Replaced heat only boiler now overheating

Good question, it's not commissioned, he left as my system takes many hours to fill. He tested it briefly when partially full and it was overheating we thought maybe it would stop when full. He was supposed to come back today to comission it but I checked if it was working once full yesterday...

Replaced heat only boiler now overheating

Yes all correct John (except the old one is a classic HE), I'm not sure if the engineer didn't check if there was a crossover when he removed it, once it was off we agreed return left and flow right on old and new boiler but somehow it's ended up reversed. No bother he will come back and switch...

Replaced heat only boiler now overheating

Now that I'm thinking about pretty sure the left side (return) was getting hotter than the flow side. Oh dear I really don't want to have to drain this down again...

Replaced heat only boiler now overheating

I guess it's possible why are you guessing that? The gas engineer took the pipes from the previous boiler left return and right flow so unlikely to be wrong.

Replaced heat only boiler now overheating

I had an ideal classic he 15 heat only boiler running a boilermate ov class a thermal store. The thermal store has a grundfos 15/60 pump on the boiler return. Replaced with a baxi 415 (because no overrun and no live required which simplifies things). Thermal store refilled all things working...
