    Problem with rehung door.

Hi Thanks for responding. Panelled with tenons. I don't know for sure but I know it is a pretty old door. It is a bedroom door and we have a new rad - it gets pretty hot bedroom side but obviously not especially humid.

    Problem with rehung door.

Hi I have removed, stripped and rehung four internal doors. I have used new hinges that were slightly narrower than the old hinges (not ideal I know but the old hinges went AWOL during all the decorating  ). Three of the doors were no problem however one is not hanging correctly...

    Raise socket facia

Oh.... plop  Ok - no foam etc surround. Face plates are metal. Plaster now very dry and painted over. This is actually supposed to be amongst the finishing touches. I doubt I will buy these things again frankly. Thanks crafty. If there is another alternative I would love to hear it

Thanks guys. Header tank is full and refills & we have a good flow of cold water through all hot taps so does that cover Daniel's points 1 & 3? I think the gate valve is ok but I will double check. I will try re hotwater only on the time switch. We have had some banging last two days in...

Central heating fine but no hot water after fitting new rad

Thanks for replying weareleeds I cannot see any vents. There is a large bolt head on the top of the cylinder that is marked where it has been opened previously. There is also a valve on the pipe leading into the top of the cylinder. Nothing else that I can spot.

Central heating fine but no hot water after fitting new rad

Hi We recently had a plumber round to fit a new radiator. He drained the central heating system to do so (though not by doing anything with the header tank as I have read in a few FAQs - he turned the mains supply off instead). Anyway - the central heating is now working fine. However we have...
