Thank you Third Eye...... by "alternatives", I meant equivalant/alternatives to Novamura. For "emulsion" read Dulux Diamond or Real Life Bathroom paint with a soft sheen. Good of you to respond. And Thank you JohnD, Novamura was expanded Polyethylene, but it was quite limp, not at all...

Novamura was an excellent wallcovering in kitchens and bathrooms, why no-one has taken it up baffles me. However, does anyone out there know of an alternative that will tolerate bath/shower spray other than an eggshell emulsion? Suggestions welcomed.
