Novamura was an excellent wallcovering in kitchens and bathrooms, why no-one has taken it up baffles me. However, does anyone out there know of an alternative that will tolerate bath/shower spray other than an eggshell emulsion?
Suggestions welcomed.

Problem is "prettygatepete" most people just want to apply emulsion on there flat walls these days, which creats less hassle.

Why do you ask about alternative rather than eggshell (acrylic) ?

was Novamura the foamed polythene covering? About as stiff as thin cardboard, and felt soft?

Thank you Third Eye...... by "alternatives", I meant equivalant/alternatives to Novamura. For "emulsion" read Dulux Diamond or Real Life Bathroom paint with a soft sheen. Good of you to respond.

And Thank you JohnD, Novamura was expanded Polyethylene, but it was quite limp, not at all stiff and soft to the touch.

Horrible stuff IMO...you nearly always had to line to walls or paint them first because any change in colour would show through...it was also very im practical in hallways or anywhere that got a lot of wear an tear..the surface was really soft and it marked just by looking at it!
