I hope someone can give me an idea about fixing this valve.
My CH stopped working yesterday but HW worked as normal. Boiler seems fine (only 3 years old). Heard it might be a faulty diverter valve so, with boiler power off, I moved the little levers from auto to manual. There was resistance and...
Thanks for reply. However, flat is in central Glasgow, building has 6 floors and 40 odd flats and pressure has been good with us for years and as far as I know, everybody else. So don't really think a mains booster is suddenly needed now.
Certainly have never thought plumbing is easy. I can't...
Hi, my daughter lives in a flat (5th floor) which has an electric shower (Triton Jade 2) in en suite, and a Bristan B85 over bath in main bathroom. Both installed in 2007.
Both work well although Bristan has always had the low pressure light permanently on - must have been like that when...
Disregard last post - replaced the solenoid coil and problem solved!
Thanks to all and sorry to Seco for last post which seemed to doubt his diagnosis.
Hi, hope Seco services is about!
Just ran the shower and, as usual, it shut down after 5 mins. I immediately checked the votage at solenoid coil and it was 240V. And the Coil resistance read 3.95!!!
Have come specially down with a new coil, fully expecting the coil to give no reading and...
Just been told that the shower flow comes back on a few mins after low pressure light comes on and shuts down! Then it cycles this on/off every 3 mins or so. And the water temperature is correct for dial setting.
Still solenoid?
Again, many thanks.
I'd rather replace a part ( about £12.50) than the shower although I realise that could become an option.
So getting the required resistance in the solenoid coil is not the absolute proof of its working ability? Didn't know that!
I won't be able to check the voltage at...
Thanks, seco services, I appreciate your help.
I checked the solenoid and got 3.75 a long time after the shower had stopped. (I'm not at the property and went there specifically yesterday to 'try' to fix/find the problem).
Didn't check voltage at solenoid although confirmed 240V at terminal...
Thanks - didn't take off shower head as flow seemed normal, filter was clear and there's no limescale buildup in this soft water area in kettles etc. But it's worth checking anyway.
Still inclined to think something else is problem though.
Not sure if this should be here or in Plumbing but on grounds its an electric appliance, I'll try here first!
Triton Jade 2 shower about 4 years old and has worked perfectly until now.
Actually still works perfectly - for 4-5 mins only, then Low Pressure Light comes on and flow stops...
