    No Plaster behind skirting boards

Thanks Ree. I don't want the new skirting to be any higher than it is now; possibly a fraction lower. One of the reasons I've taken the skirting off was that in quite a few places there was a gap at the top. Presumably this is because as it was nailed in further down, this pulled the lower...

    No Plaster behind skirting boards

I've taken out the skirting boards in my house (victorian terrace) and there's no plaster within about 10-15cm of the base of the wall. This is the case throughout the whole house: upstairs and down. The skirtings were nailed into place. I will be getting a plasterer in to do some bits...

Space taken up by Plasterboard vs Wet Plaster

Hi, I've had to gut the kitchen of the house I've moved into; it was in a state. A builder from whom I'd arranged a quote said the best thing to do is strip the plaster (which in places was pretty manky) back to the brick and dot and dab the room. It's a galley kitchen, so pretty narrow...

    Floor levelling compound over Bitumen?

I was wondering whether these products can be applied over bitumen floors. My floor also has some areas of thin screed (2-3mm) overlying the bitumen in places. In some areas this screed is quite friable and is cracking; would all of the areas affected by cracking have to be removed for use of...

Dealing with wires on removed lighting

(btw, the reason I was in a rush to get this light out before hte new system is that it was attached to some awful roughsawn planks which were nailed over the ceiling. Want to get rid of these and put them in the skip with other rubbish, while I can.)
