Cheers for your reply. The job is completed now. Reason for the coving was that the tiling in the bath/shower area (to ceiling) had left a decent amount of gap at the top to hide due to the slanted and uneven ceiling. Couldn't just cove the area of tiles so did throughout the bathroom...
Hi all,
Looking for some advice from you can spare it.
I have just gone and bought some 127mm supercove to do my bathroom and found the ceiling is slanted ..a lot.
I marked up the walls again from the lowest mark using a level and the ceiling is off by 2.5inch at one side of the room
As this...
Delayed response.
Thanks for the replies again.
I'm case anyone else is interested I just used scaffold up to the eaves, roof ladders and a man on the scaffold catching slates.
Ridge tiles off first then claw hammer and ripper to take them
off neatly.
Just to reply to datarebel - The garage...
Cheers for the reply.
Just manage to organise some after I posted that will get us to the eaves.
Plan now is to take them off and slide down to man on scaffold, then stack them on pallets.
Any idea about the brackets?
hi all,
I'm about to undertake stripping half an old garage slate roof before it's demolished and looking for some tips from the pros.
I was going to work off my roof ladders as a builder who is on site has a dodgy manitoo with an even more dodgy work basket that's falling to pieces that I...
hi I'm trying to help my in laws but installing a light a switch in their garage.
I've run all the cables and when I turned the CU back on the light came on fine. When I switch it off it trips!??
Can some kind soul help
as above a decent brush like Purdy is the way to go
run some folded sandpaper down the corner a few times to give you a clean line to work with. Frog tape is also an option if you aren't confident.
Good luck
Need advice on demolishing half a garage correctly.
In laws are building a new house on their land and half of a large old working garage needs to come
down to make space.
They have a builder coming to build a wall halfway up the garage to ensure it's water tight before removing the slates...
Nice one thanks - I had a look and all wiring seems ok within the box.
If the the mic is damaged due to water ingress I'm not going to mess around with it trying to find a new one.
(The neighbours generally aren't very good at reimbursing for improvements)
Thanks for your help
Thanks again for your reply.
Yes it's a block of 6 flats and all other neighbours are on the same system. I spoke with one this morning who said her mic doesn't work either. Reckon it's worth a try to open the box at the front door to see if there's anything obviously loose or broken...
Yes! Nice one cheers!
The mic still isn't working but it didn't with the old handset. Guessing this could this be an issue with the box on the front door down stairs? do you reckon this is a simple fix?
Thanks again
trying (and failing) to change out an old videx handset for a bell 801
Can anyone help to tell me which wires go where?!
I cut the cable before taking it off to see where the old wires went in the videx
Stupidly presumed it would be a straight swap
Thanksf for your reply and advice.
Yeah I remember someone telling me that it goes from thick to thin..
Nightmare problem is that we have spent all our money on this roofer (as extras crept in) and still have a leaking property so unsure what to do as he is claiming it could have been...
