We recently moved in to a new house which has recessed lights in a built in wardrobe that don’t seem to work. I went to replace the bulbs and noticed that one of them seemed to have some sort of thermal damage on the outside. Any ideas what may have caused this? Bit worried about fitting new...

They looked at that last time and while they said it looked in decent condition they did lay some new cement on it just in case....

Just had a bit of rain and ours is still leaking :-( Any suggestions for what to try next? We were told the pointing looking in ok condition but that is the only other thing I can think of. The tiles we're told look fine, the pots have covers, so not sure what's left!

Sorry to hear that, sounds annoying. We had a similar issue and had new soakers/flashing which didn't have any effect. We've since had new concrete on the flaunching and a water seal painted on the brickwork (pointing was fine apparently) but have yet to have any heavy rain to see if that's...
