I think it is plastic - the joining from the pipe end to the toilet certainly looks plastic.

Can anyone tell me how much I should expect to pay a plumber to fix a leak from the soil pipe. Th leak occurs when the toilet is flushed. How long should the repair take? The toilet is an Armitage Shanks - cannot read the writing/numbers on the soil pipe.
