How to restore yellowed shower trim (was transparent)

Yes I've heard about that approach for white. Wasn't sure whether it would.work with transparent and also size makes it difficult to soak. It may seem daft but I had considered putting them somewhere where they'd be in direct sunlight. They've discoloured in a room that is at the side of the...

How to restore yellowed shower trim (was transparent)

They're a long length. "U" section that fits over the end of the glass and a sort of wiper blade that wipes the glass as the doors move.

How to restore yellowed shower trim (was transparent)

Our guest bathroom shower enclosure has six transparent seals for the doors - two of which have discoloured/yellowed (same part - from both sides). Before we look at replacing them, does anyone have any tips for restoring discoloured/yellowed trim back to its transparent state?

Ventilation - poly-carb covered lean-to with UPVC door

Thanks guys. I've read a few similar posts (to mine) and it seems that simple things like draught proofing/sealing the door from the kitchen would help (stop warm air getting into passage). I'll google those ventilators too.

Ventilation - poly-carb covered lean-to with UPVC door

I was just thinking/reading about trickle vents as they seem typically small/compact. "If you are not sure about the size of your existing vents, remember that all habitable rooms (bedrooms, living rooms etc) should have a minimum of 5000mm2 of free area ventilation and all wet rooms...

Ventilation - poly-carb covered lean-to with UPVC door

The wall (left of photo) is essentially a double brick external wall. I have considered insulating the wall (the upvc door is offset for that very reason) but have held as I wanted to see how the space behaved before hand. Ironically, my concern was that insulating it may make it too warm and...

Ventilation - poly-carb covered lean-to with UPVC door

I (think I am) looking for advice about ventilation! We have recently (2 weeks ago) replaced an old glass lean-to roof with a poly-carb equivalent. We have also replaced the UPVC door. We have already noticed a significant amount of condensation on the underside of the poly-carb roof. My...

    Riser for square clay gulley

Hi, Need to raise an existing rain water drain so that I can tee into it. Thought it would be easy but the existing clay gulley has a square hole/neck and the t-pieces are 110mm round. I had assumed I could buy a ribbed seal (or similar) but can't seem to find one. Am I googling the wrong...

Painting cast radiators - looking for black/grey equivalent to Hammerite radiator paint

Thanks but limited colour options (although more than Hammerite's white or white) - also spray only. As previously commented, I've more recently used Hammerite paint and been pleased with the results on our radiators (which have four vertical bars per section). Yes it's a challenge to get...

Painting cast radiators - looking for black/grey equivalent to Hammerite radiator paint

Hi, Over recent years, I've had to paint several of our cast radiators (previous owners had sadly not made the best of jobs). Used white radiator wet spray but found that the Hammerite paint provides a better and longer lasting result. Need to tackle two more radiators but this time we want...

BEKO DW603 dishwasher - continuous humming noise (cycle doesn't end)

How did you go on? More curiosity than anything. Too late for our old dishwasher which was part sold as spares, part converted to two magnetic notice boards and the rest scrapped!

LUKEWARM Heritage Glastonbury Exposed Valve Thermostatic shower

As an early Xmas present, our shower has decided to play up. Now runs lukewarm only so looking for guidance. The shower offers: - cold (first 60-deg turn of handle) - lukewarm (remainder of movement) Shower has been fitted approx 5 years. Hot ran from a Worcester Bosch combi. Cold appears to...

BEKO DW603 dishwasher - continuous humming noise (cycle doesn't end)

The warranty on the parts is 12-mth. There are reviews saying they didn't last that long before the same issue resurfaced.

BEKO DW603 dishwasher - continuous humming noise (cycle doesn't end)

Our "leak" was a result of the water in the dishwasher not draining. There are small drain holes (below where the door pivots) - these lead to the two short hoses located underneath - the two that are open ended therefore fill the drain tray. I'd offer to send you my old PCB to trial (easy to...
